A Private Community of Seekers

Looking back on my own search for enlightenment, one of the greatest resources I ever encountered was the book I Am That. It was compiled from conversations between Nisargadatta Maharaj and some of the numerous seekers that went to see him at his home in Mumbai. Part of the lesson of that book is that you can learn just as much from another’s questions as you can from your own. Sometimes more.

Since starting the Satsang I’ve been surprised at how much I enjoy the group aspect of it. I’ve never really been one for groups in general, preferring solitude or, at most, the company of one or two people. But this has changed my mind. There’s a certain magic in bringing the right group together that you just can’t get anywhere else. These talks have become the best part of my week.

This group is everything I think a modern Satsang should be—a good group of people all earnestly pursuing their own goals. Some are seeking enlightenment, some are seeking peace, others a quiet mind or a natural stoicism. They are aligned in that they are all seeking truth, and they are all seeking a better life.

We meet on Zoom every Friday at 3pm Pacific Time. I open with a brief talk, then turn it over to you to ask your questions. Recordings are made available to members after each call.

If that sounds like something you're interested in, I would love to see you inside.

“I stopped getting angry. I don't suffer anymore. I see myself and the world clearly. My pursuits now feel effortless. James understands the mind and helped me to be free of my self image. I'm busy, just like every other parent, and without James I wouldn't have the peace I do now.” —Steven Pearson

“James’ Satsang is a great place to learn about enlightenment and explore life with the perspective of a truth-realised person. I was skeptical at first as I don’t normally enjoy ‘groups’, but I soon discovered that hearing other people’s questions also adds a lot of value to it. James’ calm and friendly persona allows each one of us to share and investigate our own personal struggle without judgment and gives us simple, clear and honest answers/explanations. I’m very grateful for his guidance during my own search for freedom.” —Alessandra M.

“James excels at simplifying complex topics, making them easy to understand. His responses to my burning questions have had a profound impact on my life. Additionally, the questions from other participants in the Satsang group were very useful and led to unexpected personal insights.“ —Denis F.

“James has demystified many of the things in my life that felt stuck or unresolved. He is very patient and has the ability to eloquently explain truths in a common relatable way. The insights that these calls inspired have drastically changed the sense of peace I feel on a day to day basis and truly helped me see through many of the illusions that hindered me. This is a rare opportunity for any serious spiritual seeker and it's something that would have saved me a lot of time and confusion if it existed in the past.” —Tommy Guilfoyle

“Gaining a better understanding about one‘s own mind is profound for improving quality of life. James is one of the rare humans, who has the ability to articulate truths about how the mind works with remarkable clarity. Consequently, I genuinely enjoy listening to and joining the conversations.” —Matthias Cordes
